Today with Nancy Wilson
CBC News: Today with Nancy Wilson

Host Nancy Wilson presents immediate reports on the day's developing stories as they unfold.

Host Nancy Wilson tracks the day’s top stories and breaking news in a lively and insightful 2 ½ hour program.

Nancy Wilson is the anchor of CBC News: Today, the mid-day network newscast on CBC Television and CBC Newsworld.

Wilson is a familiar face to Canadians. She has worked as a reporter, host and anchor for top-rated news programs such as CTV's Canada AM, CJOH News in Ottawa and the parliamentary bureau of Global News. For two years, she produced and reported for House on the Hill, the political affairs program on CJOH in Ottawa.

Prior to joining CBC Newsworld, Wilson worked on CBC Television's newsmagazine The Journal, where her work included a study of the roots of the Mohawk Warrior Society and an in-depth look at Canada's health care system. She also covered key Canadian stories, including the Meech Lake Constitutional debate, the 1989 Quebec provincial election and the emergence of the Bloc Quebecois.

Wilson made her debut on CBC Newsworld in November 1991 as the host of the prime-time flagship program, This Country. She went on to work for the network's afternoon program Newsworld Today in Toronto; hosted CBC Morning; co-hosted Politics; and hosted The Money Show, a weekly program dealing with personal finance.

Since the mid-1970s, Wilson has interviewed Canada's leading politicians. She has also interviewed Mikhail Gorbachev, Francois Mitterand, Helmut Kohl, Jacques Chirac and Ted Kennedy. She has covered every federal election since 1974 and was part of the anchor team for the Quebec and Charlottetown Referendums. Equally at ease with celebrities, Wilson has interviewed Robin Williams, Daniel-Day Lewis, Sally Field, Martin Sheen and Latin singing sensation Ricky Martin. The Ottawa native is a graduate of Queen's University in Kingston.
